What computer will I need for the course?

You can use your own, or we can lend you a Macbook one for the duration of the full time course (not for the PreCourse or during the job hunt).

We run the course on Apple Computers (laptops or desktops are fine). If you don't have one that's okay too. Anyone experienced with Linux is fine to use that. We recommend either Ubuntu or Mint distro's.

If you don't have a Mac, we have a limited number of laptops available for you to borrow for the duration of the full time course (12 weeks). We will ask if you need one once you have been accepted onto the course, and you will then receive it the first day of your full time training. We won't ask for a security deposit or a fee for lending a laptop from us.

A majority of our laptops are MacBook Airs.

You will need to return the laptop to Makers once the bootcamp is completed and you'll need your own laptop for job hunting.

If you are joining a remote cohort, laptops will be sent to you during the last week of PreCourse, as soon as you have completed the assignments for the first three weeks of PreCourse.

While remote: Makers will deliver and collect the laptop from your address using a courier. This will be arranged by our Ops team.
