What support will I receive?
Learn what support learners receive during a Makers programme, including coaching, placement support and guidance from employers.
Learners receive support throughout the programme from both Makers and their employer. The goal is to help apprentices develop the technical skills, confidence and professional behaviours needed to succeed in their role.
Coaching and learning support
During the programme, learners work with experienced Makers coaches who guide them through the learning process.
Coaches support learners by:
-
Providing feedback on technical work
-
Helping develop problem-solving skills
-
Supporting progress through the curriculum
-
Encouraging collaboration and good engineering practices
This support helps learners continue improving as they build their skills.
Placement coaching
Makers also provides placement coaches who support learners as they progress in their role.
Placement coaches help learners:
-
Navigate their first experiences working in a technical team
-
Reflect on their development and progress
-
Build confidence in applying their skills in real workplace environments
Their role is to help learners continue developing once they begin applying their learning in their role.
Support from your employer
Because apprenticeships are real jobs, learners are also supported by their employer during the programme.
This may include guidance from line managers or team members as apprentices apply their learning in real projects and day-to-day work.
